NOTICE TO MARINERS

Lake Mead National Recreation Area Superintendent Bill Dickinson announced changes in aids to navigation on Lake Mead.

The following unlighted lateral buoy has been established to assist mariners in the Virgin Basin near Mushroom Reef.

The Mushroom Reef South red nun buoy, number "32A" is located at:

  • 36 degrees, 05 minutes, 12 seconds north
  • 114 degrees, 19 minutes, 20 seconds west
  • These aids will remain in service while water levels at Lake Mead National Recreation Area remain lower than normal. As water levels rise, the need for the buoys will be re-evaluated.
